Freeze Dried Lions Mane

Lions mane (Hericium erinaceus) is a type of medicinal mushroom and has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries. Scientific research shows that Lions Mane contains a number of health-promoting substances, including antioxidants and beta-glucan.

Our Lions Mane is locally harvested in beautiful British Columbia, Canada.

Lions Mane is known to improve memory and brain function - its chemical compounds can pass through the blood brain barrier. It can protect and regenerate nerve cells by inducing nerve growth factor (NGF), required by the brain and neurons for development and maintenance. It can heal gastric ulcers by controlling overgrowth of the H. pylori bacterium, associated with ulcers. Lyophilization is a complex food preservation technique. First the product is exposed to a deep freeze of -40°C. While maintaining this temperature, the product is then exposed to a deep vacuum for several days. This process sublimates all the ice directly into a vapor before a final dry cycle is applied to remove any remaining moisture. Overall, 99.9% of the water is removed from the final product, allowing it to be stable at room temperature for up to 25 years while maintaining 97% of the original nutritional value.
