Our Labor of Love

Our journey began like many do, with a health scare. After many hospital visits and tests, it was determined that Amanie would be dealing with a life-long auto-immune condition - Multiple Sclerosis. After much research and deliberation, we decided not to take the conventional treatment route and opted for a wholistic approach.

Our approach included overhauling our diet, our environment, and lifestyle. We truly believe the human body has the ability to heal itself, and with this in mind we searched the globe for the most nutrient dense superfoods we could find. It was during this search that we discovered Irish Sea Moss - a type of seaweed that is high in nutrients and has been used for centuries as a natural remedy for a variety of health issues. It is rich in vitamins and minerals, and is thought to have anti-inflammatory properties. In fact, it contains a whopping 92 of the 102 minerals that your body needs!

At the time, there were no sources for sea moss gel locally, which forced us to import straight from the source in Saint Lucia. Before long we had mastered our technique, and were producing our own highly concentrated, single ingredient gels.

We were so impressed with the positive impact sea moss had on our health that we wanted to share this amazing superfood with the world! There was just one problem... without a preservative, sea moss gel has a shelf life of ~4 weeks in the fridge. Sharing this product with the world was turning out to be a logistical nightmare. Our drive to help others led us to attempt many preservation techniques - and it was then that we discovered freeze drying. We used survival food preservation techniques to retain 97% of the nutritional value, while solving the shelf life dilemma. And just like that, Survival Moss was born!

Our business has been a labor of love for us, and we are so grateful to be able to share the amazing health benefits of sea moss with others. We hope that our products can help people live healthier, happier lives, just as it has done for us.
